Love Across the Sea, #ForeverMcGee

FAQ

What airport should we fly into?

The airport on St. Thomas is Cyril E. King Airport (STT).

Do we need a passport

No this is a U.S island but remember Starting on May 7, 2025, U.S. travelers must be REAL ID compliant to board flights. You MUST have this real ID to travel. The Drivers License / ID will have a star (and/or flag) or say "Enhanced" for more information on your specific state visit https://www.dhs.gov/real-id

If you don’t have a real ID you can also use a passport

When should we book?

As soon as you’re able! The island fills up quickly, so to make sure you have the best options and price ranges, book now! See the Lodging and Travel page for Airbnb/Vrbo links (most common), as well as a couple hotels.

Where do we stay?

We recommend staying on the east side of the island. The most common area is Sapphire Beach (see the lodging and travel page). You will be booking hotel and flight accommodations on your own.

How do we get to the wedding venue?

There will be 1-2 shuttle pickup locations the day of the wedding, depending on where everyone decides to stay. Shuttles will bring guests to and from the venue before and after the wedding

Any All-Inclusive Resorts?

There is only one all-inclusive resort on the island, Bolongo Bay, but we have been advised against staying there. The island is a safe place with lots of local restaurants and food/activity experiences so the area we recommended Sapphire Beach is the best! Plus the East End has the best beaches!

What's the schedule?

We will have a few scheduled activities, TBD. Otherwise, this is your vacation and you are free to do whatever activities you'd like. We don't want to take over how you like to vacation. Restaurant and activity recommendations will be updated soon.

Should we rent a car?

This is up to you! There are plenty of taxis on island, or you can rent a jeep/other vehicle from one of the local rental businesses. I have seen many horror stories booking through the airport, so I would avoid that if possible. It all depends how comfortable you are driving on the left side of the road and through winding mountain roads! We have to limit the cars we have at the venue so we provide transportation to the wedding.

How long do we have to stay?

This is up to you! The wedding will be on Saturday, March 21st with a welcome party the night before. We recommend that you arrive the Thursday before the wedding but it's your vacation so come as early and stay as late as you want!
